I have an 1997 Ford Escort I
need to replace the ecu but I can’t find one to match the exact number?
The ecu # is f7cf-12a650-ad and it has the code nnn3 on the top. Is there another ecu I can use or does it have to match exactly? And if I can’t find one, how much to get an ecu flashed and were? Supposedly this is what I need to get my car running again.
Answer: Any ecu out of another escort that year with the same motor and trans should work. You can use the ones out of the mercury tracers also, mercury’s version of the escort. It is located behind the lower center part of the dash.
