Does anyone know where the ECU is on a BMW E36 316i Saloon? I need to take out the ecu while I weld a bit of body work and I cannot find the ECU.
Answer: As you look at the engine bay from the front there is a foam/plastic panel covering in the left (passenger) side corner on the firewall. Remove the cover and the ECU housing and then you can remove the whole ECU.
