2007 BMW Z4 Coupe Seat |
I own an 2007 BMW Z4 Coupe, does anyone know if it is possible to fit it with a baby seat into this car? Any advice regarding this topic would be very helpful. Thank you.
Answer: If you need to put a baby seat, you need to make sure the passenger airbag is disabled. Most new cars like BMW Z4 have a minimum weight sensor under the passenger seat, where the passenger airbag will not deploy in an accident if the sensor does not detect a person of a certain minimum weight sitting on that seat. Other cars actually have an additional hidden switch (that can only be turned with the car key) to fully enable/disable the airbag. Passenger airbags can kill a child in a baby seat. Don’t just go with a “guess”. Make sure. You should just go talk to your BMW dealer to make sure. There’s no charge for asking the question. Whether the car has LATCH and other attachment features are all secondary concerns. You can always buy a seat to suit your Z4 even if it doesn’t have LATCH.
